Phx - Why not more Longboards in the Valley?
Why do you guys think there aren't very many Longboarders in the Phoenix Area? How many people are even active in the forum in Phx? 10?
Pros:
We have perfect weather and can ride everyday( yeah it's too hot in the summer, but you can still ride).
New smooth roads and sidewalks in most areas.
Cons: Not many hills in most of the valley (but you're never that far away from some kind of hills. Hell flat land is better for beginers to start so they don't freak out on a hill that's to big for them)
Real hot in the Summer
Things are real spread out

What kind of setup do you have for you LDP? I've been looking into that a little since I live in a flat area.

That would be very cool. It seems like it would be perfect for me. But nice LDP setups aren't cheap, so a test ride would be very cool to see if I'm into it.
Thanks,
Ryan

For real, maybe more of big group ride downtown? It's usally sooo dead downtown on the weekends. Maybe hop on the light rail and hit a bunch of spots? Around Papago looks good to.
I'm new to riding and nowhere near confident to try any DH racing. I bet there are a lot of people who would like to get together but not yet ready for the race scene.

Well Josh, John, and I are officially going to start training for the Lookout Mountain race in Colorado so we will probably be doing some fast tech stuff. If you wanna ride with us though we'll ride with you on Cheney and a couple easier roads to teach you some stuff.

We've been messing around in the cheney area....they re-paved some roads...some cool stuff to still be ridden. We did a cool run the other day but was pretty sketchy because of blind corners and stuff....had a good drift in it though
