Dallas area boarders!

I'm moving to Mckinney next week, and don't know anyone or anywhere to board. I've been riding for a couple years and would love to ride with anyone, no matter the skill level.

if anyone wants to meet up and do some boarding let me know on here or through a PM and I'm down for sure.

I believe there's a decent scene in Denton. Back in the day there were several ditches there that were sk8able but I've not seen them in over 15 yrs.

You'll also be fairly close to the skatepark in Allen. Its free and IME the skaters are cool with longer boards. Got to watch out for bikes and scooters though. Best to go early.

There are lots of little groups doin' there own thing around here, why type of skating are you into?

hey whats up? I'm in the area (I go between denton and richardson a lot). The Allen park is fun but gets kinda packed later in the day. I mostly cruise the hills around denton, not very familiar with the mckinney area. Like hyperdad said there are a buncha little groups here and there. I dont know many but they are out there somewhere. Hopefully they respond to this thread and we could get a sesh going.

awesome, I haven't spent a lot of time down there because my family moved the week before I came to school up here in oklahoma.

I do a bit of everything, I really enjoy freeriding, and am quickly growing an addiction for some more downhill type stuff. I'm usually game for anything that involves a longboard (just got a new landy drop speed. ). I've never ridden in a skatepark but it sounds like fun and I've always wanted to ride a bowl.

I'll be down there at the end of this week (finals, woo!) and have to go through denton to get home (and only live about 20 minutes from there) if anyone wants to organize a sesh and introduce me to some local spots, I'll be free all the time until I find myself a job. sounds fun, eh?

Just so you all know A&M University just got permission to form a skate team in the fall to compete with the one already established at Stephen F. Austin State University. we are currently planning an event to take place at both schools in the fall. It will be open to everyone. If you are intrested in helping organize let me know.

Hey I mostly skate by myself too. I live in the Carrollton/Plano area. We've got the edge park in Allen and this newer one in lewisville called railroad athletics park. I've never skated a park either, and decided to go check it out. On the smaller side, but free and dead during the day. I had the whole pool/bowl area to myself for almost an hour. It is a blast and you'll get a bunch of looks and questions about the size of your wheels and the length of your deck. I am riding an 11 ply sector9 pintail that flat (no lips or concave), so I don't do drop in's or any catch any air, but it sure is fun slab surfing the concrete waves. It's a great place to work on sliding, with the small speed ramps and polished slab. We need to design a longboard park with a badass private hill and road and a snowboard style halfpipe and some highspeed turns with Burms and coping.

Also, I know of a couple safe to skate garages in the area that would be, according to The Bomb Squad, bunny slopes lol. But WTF, I don't have any garage exp, and went out to bass to check it out...holy $&@!!! That's a faaaaaast looking garage. Very steep and confined, compared to my bunny slopes lmao. The one I go to is 5 levels and about 20-30mph down the ramps with plenty of room to make the turns. If anyones interested, I'd like to get a local crew together on the N Dallas side of town. P.M. me if you wanna check it out. I also know of a skater safe highschool with a few huge parking lots and 35mph-ish driveway. All of it is sooooooo smooth!
