Holey Pants!

So im trying to get the loaded challenge series 1 down and part of the series is to do 4 coffin carves. I can do it just fine but after my 3rd time doing it (just to make sure there werent any flukes) my pants had 2 holes in them.

Any way I can coffin carve without ripping my pants on my grip tape? maybe i shud just get thicker pants...
