    Default Luge at BBDH

Buffalo Bill Standup race was held a few months ago in Denver on Lookout mtn. If any of you have ridden it, you know how sweet it is. It was a fairly large event this year, and from the sounds of it it might even double in size next year. I talked to some of the people that put the event together about having a buttboard heat. They didnt sound too excited about the idea, being that there will be so many of the standup guys anyhow. But if I can show that there is a lot if interest, I think I can talk them into adding in some buttborders. So here's the deal. LET ME KNOW if you'd participate, and spread the word. Lets get in the race!

I would totaly do it! Or do both! Either way I would support it.

I'm not from your area but I'm trying to get this done in New England right now too.
Buttboarding is the first way to get people to lay down and go faster. I plan on building a few to bring to events so people get the feel for a proper setup.
    Good luck!

Buttboarding is a good idea, mostly because it's cheaper. But if people do have luges I don't see why you can't use either.

yeah, I'd love the opportunity to race any other buttboarders, I have yet to find any in Denver. I've been racing standup guys at outlaw races recently, its an interesting dynamic, thats for sure.

Thok, currently there are not any lugers of any kind racing. I want to add a buttboard race because thats what I do, and because I think it might be a little easier to find buttboarders. Its a really windy course as well. I'm not sure how a proper luge would handle all those hairpins in a row, I've never had the opportunity to ride one.

Butt boarding is the way to go then. Good old wood. It's great for beginners, will all of the requirements getting parts is very simple.

I'm waiting for more scraps so I can make my self one. When I go out skating with my girlfriend she is way faster than I am (she buttboards, I stand up) so I would like to keep up with her.

A luge will handle hairpins fine. Psshhh. It's how you handle it that matters.
It'll be especially easier to find buttboarders if you provide them with a buttboard.
If you and a buddy both make 2, that's enough boards for a heat, then you just gotta convince "standup rulezzz" kids to try it.

Just beat them down the hill, then they will want to try it.

hehe, been there. At the outlaw race here I pull up and everyone is shooting me dirty "what the hell is that thing doing here" looks. After the first heat I get to the top of the hill and guys are yelling "yeah buttboarder!" Lining up for the third heat a standup guy looks at my board and says "that thing scares the #### out of me". I think for some reason a lot of standup guys thing that you ride a buttboard c'us you dont have the balls to stand up. They dont realize how hard you can ride them

You know, I don't have the balls to do standup. It freaking scares me to cruise on my longboard under an underpass.

On the other hand, many standup guys think we are crazy to do luge/buttboard as we typically hit higher speeds.

    Interesting world.

I remember one time sitting with one of the top standup guys, a world champion gravity biker, and all three of us saying how the others are crazy for doing what we do...
