You are trying to get something together for AZ... and yet you want to delete this off the forum? Huh?
What am I doing for the sport? Well I race for the USA at most international races, what are YOU doing for the sport (other than trying to get it deleted off here)?

it totally looks like its not coming back like it us too. dont get me wrong i love doing it as well. were i live i never hear about any more, never see it on tv. all iam trying to say is it looks like its fading out. i dont want it to happen but? i am puttting something together in az. i am hitting a lot of red tape with people that work for the city. but if it happens i really want to see luge in the event more then anything. its time to pull people together and make it big again!!! the delete thing is something to really think about (not that i want it to happen). how many online luge stores are there. use to be a lot. not too many now! used to be in the x-games. so there some food for thought. i dont want to see it go but it looks that way. i can only do so much my self. there for what are you doing to bring it back? for those who are, cool keep it up!!! yes my first thread was misleading for that iam sorry.

It's not dead. It's just hiding.
Like when you lose a sweater, you look for it for a while and can't find it, it's not because the sweater died, it just wants some alone time. When you find the sweater it will be all better and fixed forever.

Re: the luge is dead!!!
Newton's Playground had a field of over 50 lugers. This was the largest field since 2003 Hot Heels.
The same year, Talimena had 3 downhill skateboarders (downhill skateboarding must have be dead)
Things go in cycles.
And yes it is very difficult to get into street luge. Finding a board is almost impossible. This has always been true. Today there are only a few people that make boards to sell (Rogers Bros, TRS, Street Missle at least in North America) Fortunately Classic Luge is becoming more popular and more companies are offering classic boards.
Throwing heands up and saying the sport is dead, may as well remove everything left is sort of counter productive.
SurfetheWave, what exactly are you trying to do? Are you looking for help?
Street luge isn't exactly on a strong leg in North America right now. The race attendence over the last few years has been dismal. But being negative about it doesn't help matters.
The question is how to get more people into the sport? There are several factors, people don't know the sport exists. This will change as there is more media coverage of IGSA races.
Barrier to entry is also high. Unfortunately not a lot can be done aboutthis (except encourage classic style) Building a board is expsenive, and without a ton of riders it isn't exonomically feasible for someone to offer boards for sale.
But being negative won't help the sport grow.

Re: the luge is dead!!!
I bet you feel small now... don't you?
I've seen more luging on TV than DH racing on skateboards...
You can't grow a crop if you don't sow the seeds.
I'd LOVE to get into classic but I live in FL; so, I'd just admire the guys and gals that do ride luges until I plant my roots in a new place.
Also, I stumbled on a website that was about chicks riding classic luges... Now that is the kinda gal I wanna bring home to mom.
IDEA: Married while luging... Anyone know any preachers that luge?

Case in point: I have seen (and played) a street luge video game. It was actually pretty cool. No such game exists (to my knowledge) for downhill skateboarding.
