    Default Luge/Buttboard Manufacturers?

I got into longboarding last summer
Like most people I tried the speedboarding and stuff
I bought a speedboard (sayshun mania) and I do like it a lot
    But I LOVE buttboarding
I go way faster on my ass then I could ever dream of going standing up!
It's so much fun, but due to how the board is made, it is very difficult to buttboard or luge on this
I was wondering if there was any websites that I could buy one from?

(Please dont say build one. I'm not building one. It looks complex and I'm not crafty and have a short temper)

You can EASILY build a buttboard. There are directions on buttboarding.com

There are also a handful of board companies that have been tinkering with buttboards to make and sell. I know Blackross out of France sell one. Bently out of Washington just posted some pics of one, although I am not sure if he is manufacturing any yet. Tim Novak had some made and is selling them.

I need to try to put together a comprehensive list of people selling buttboards.

Yes, we here at Dangerous Decks have been building Classic Luge boards for a while now and thoroughly enjoying it. At the tender age of 52 I've just taken it up and it's a real blast. At 50+ mph it feels like you've hit the warp button! I also have to say that we've recently had a major, major coup and we'll be fielding a team rider in the IGSA World Cup on one of our Bottlerocket decks. Bring it on!!

I ended up getting the Noreaster Wooden luge with the handles. Once I'm able to comfortably take that bad boy up to good solid speeds I'll probably invest in a rogers bro one.

Im about 90% sure thats not a legal butt board, drop through mounting and a drop molded deck put that right in the street luge category. someone correct me if im wrong.

No dropthroughs? says who? SC8 buttboards have dropthroughs and have been used on the IGSA circuit for years.Helene Schmit the fastest ranked woman buttboard) in the IGSA rides one as does Fabien Prual (5th in the world).SC8s also have moulded decks. The 9.81 with Surf-Rodz trucks is 81mm high.Cèdric Robert the guy who makes 9.81s has used them for the last 2 or 3 seasons in europe with no complaints.

yeah you're right my bad. I just checked the rule book and those are fine if the low part is higher than the minimum ride height.

    A. DECK: Must be made of wood. The deck may have molded features such as a kicktail, but must be one piece. No dropped boards. It may be any shape within the size limits. Nothing may be added to the deck except for the following:

i took no dropped boards as drop thoughs but maybe not

Everything but the truck and truck hardware has to be 80mm or higher. This includes the non areodynamic stiffeners attached to the bottom.

You can have a drop through, but you have to have taller trucks. You also have to be careful that your stiffener, handle on the bottom is below the 80mm point.

The deck is supposed to be made out of laminated wood. Any English speaking person, reading the rule, would think that the desk can ONLY be made out of laminated wood. But apparently that isn't the case. This is actually a contention I have, the rule is pretty clear, but apparently it isn't.

    But 10mm bearings are illegal.

I would like to see that rule changed as I'm not sure whether there are any advantages with 10mm over 8mm....
