Ok, I've been listening to a lot of your posts lately and it seems that I need to start from the beginning to tell you what is best.

First off, if anyone is buying a new luge, it should not be a pegged luge if you can afford a pegless. Pegless are much safer and much more manuverable. I know you have a pegged right now, and most people started with a pegged and all say they can't change, I know someone that has had a pegged luge since the late seventy's early eighties. He road that luge all the way up until just less than 4 months ago. He road a pegless luge, and the first thing he did when he got back from that race was chop off the front of his pegs and made it a pegless. Pegless luge's are overall better and much safer. I know people that have gotten in many crashes due to passing with pegged luges. So please, if you can find a pegless luge, buy that instead of a pegged.

Second, BIGGER WHEELS AREN'T NECCESARILY BETTER. You seem to be going backwards in how you're progressing. You got 83mm flywheels in I believe 78a durometer, then wanted to get 90's. There's nothing wrong with 90's but 83mm flywheels with 75a/78a duro. is pretty much the sweet spot for luge. Then you wanted to buy Cherry Bombs or M80's. M80's are a thing of the past. Exkates' urethane has slowly gotten worst and there is almost no urethane on the wheel, it's mostly hub. Stick with 83mm flywheels, and don't try to slide in the turns. I mean some turns are neccesary to slide through, but overall sliding is generall ineffective, dangerous, and expensive because you go threw wheels quickly.

Last, try not to use Randal Downhill trucks. SERIOUSLY. They are NOT good for luge. They are absolutely great for standup and that is about it. If you can't afford streetluge trucks, get Randal RII-B's. They are the perfect truck for a inexpensive solution. You can buy them from Tim Novak at HAE. (Just do a search for HAE Buttboard on Google and you can find his site)

Please, if you have any more questions or comments, feel free to e-mail me or just respond on the message board. If you have any reasons why you think some of the stuff I'm saying is wrong, please do respond, because I'm just trying to help and if something I say is incorrect I would like to get it right.

    Later,
    RJ

No you're legs don't get tired because the luge goes all the way to about your knees so you really aren't holding much up. I've never had my legs get tired, only my neck, but that goes for all streetluges, pegged or pegless.

Absolutely. That's great advice above too.

Pegless luges also allow you to draft closer to other racers. I've seen feet above other riders helmets... Gnarly.
THE ILC: WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
