how does one go about makin a luge?
im a straight up f***in noob, and i wanna get into it real bad.

Hmm... similar to building a board I would think. May be a bit beyond a straight up newbs ability... But it would be killer to make one!!!

Friend of mine made a pair of aluminum luges from some metal scraps... Hand cut and sanded! Real nice...

Loaned them both out on seperate occasions only to get them back bent or stapped (leg support broke off at a 30mph crash)...

a solid wood luge wouldnt be that hard just heavey.

a luge is pretty easy to build i've been up to 90 kms with a board i made out of a giveway street sign and some tubes of aluminum and poprivots pretty easy if you know what your doing

Get Lott's Streetluge Survival Guide, it's a must have! My advice is (as I reluctantly took from others when I started) is to start off with a buttboard, like the one from http://www.skateluge.com/bbluge.htm , or just get you a big-ass longboard like the Eastbilt Longboard 11.5" x 49" and slap some good trucks, wheels, grip tape and some decent bearings on it, this forum will help you find the right ones. That will calm your streetluge jones, and give you some experience while you read Lott's survival guide and design your next luge. A real luge takes so long to setup, and involves so much frustration that without the buttboard it'll be all summer before your get to actually enjoy some luge.
