Here are 3 pics of my specilized deviant helmet I bought for standup but want to use for luge... Any issues?
Also I have always lived with teary eyes and no shield but I think Ill need one for luge, being closer to flying rocks and such from my wheels... And burning rubber from breaking...
So any thoughts on the best shield? As you can see it has 3 screws for visor attachment... It allso has a small loop near my nose... Could screw a screen to the visor screws and then use a tie wrap threw the nose loop to keep it down...
option 1: How to make a visor for your Helmet
^
visor making 101: you could either velcro it on, or drill holes and use the screws that you have already
option 2:
pick up some goggles. You can pick 'em up for (if you go really cheap) $20 or so, just check your local skate/snowboard shop, or the internet. I got some cheap-o aviator style goggles to go over my full face, havn't let me down yet.
Go with Eugene Pooneil's option 1. Mksuen made me one. It's very nice. If you have any problems or questions im sure he can help, hes a super nice guy.
i have a bell helmet with a big kicked up front like yours, it makes it hard to see when i lay my head back for the tuck, i just bought a bieffie motorcycle helmet with a sweet flip up visor, makes for a very larg field of view.
on a nother note i made my visor out of a sheet ot tinted laxan i bought at a hobby store for a few bucks. i cut it to fit right inside the lip of the face, it is prety snug, and looks really clean
I think Ill live with goggles and look into that helmet.
