Default Tracker Vs. Indy

For luge what would you recommend? Tracker 219's or Indy 215's?

Any quality differences or stability differences?

I want the added width and have heard, even with their geometry being more (whats the angle?) that they are as stable as R2's...

I could use my crails but these trucks are not to expensive and I think the crails will not be wide enough and will be to stable (and lean to much)...

So yeah tracker or indy for luge? Most likely with 83mm 75a flys...

I'm pretty sure 219's are measured by the axle width as well.
so they're only a bit wider.

Tracker 219's are 219mm and the indys are 183mm or so. Ive only used the indys on a pool board so I dont really know which one you would want for a luge

Indy 215 have a ~180mm hangar. Tracker 219 hanger is ~184mm.

THe 215 and 219 are measurements from axle end to axle end.

So you guys would recommend indy 215's for luge over randal R2 180mm or crail DH trucks...?

Sound good... They just seem lighter and will turn easier... I had thought though that they were also wider.

Can we clear this truck width question up once and for all? I don't own Tracker 219s, but according to Trackers own website, they are:

219 Dart: 8.5" (215.9mm) hanger, 11" (279.4mm) axle

And I do own Indy 215s and they have an 7.25" (184mm) hanger, and 10" (254mm) axle

That doesn't really sound correct since it would mean the tracker axle has .25" less sticking out each side of the hanger than the indy (since it's axle is 1.5" wider but overall it is only 1" wider), so something is a bit off about tracker's listed specs, but the bottom line is that the tracker 219 is about an inch wider than the indy 215.

yeah. and i hate it when people diss other people's answers, when they themselves can't even spell the word! besides, didn't i just say that the 219 is 1" wider than the indy?

ah, i see. i guess we shouldn't be surprised that it's confusing since every truck company measures and names their stuff differently!

So guys any word on whether or not either of these will be good trucks?

I have crails but am looking to trade those (see my thread) and I was thinking tracker or indy might be good for a luge... I did a bit of research and indy seems to be nice but some hate tracker, not sure why... Seems like with its added width it would be a great luge truck...

I was also recommended to use 180mm R2's, with the front wedged to 60.

Indy 215's are a great truck for luge when paired up with Khiro combo bushings, I've never used Trackers, so I can't compare. I've measured the 215's with roughly a 30-degree effective kingpin angle (measuring the steering angle, not the kingpin itself). R-II's are also excellent, but unlike the Indy 215's don't come with a G8 kingpin stock. If we start arguing about the contoversial effective kingpin angle of R-II's with the hangar flipped, this post will go WAY off subject (let's leave it at somewhere between 40 and 50 degrees). The R-II's are 1/2" taller then the Indy 215's. I once ran a 215 in back for stability and an R-II in front for steering on my Gierco XS-1 (It worked great).
