I saw a vid yesterday of somebody sliding a luge...
How is it done?
Is it a tough skill or similar to drifting standup?
I am going to most likely be using a low duro wheel for grip but a fly wheel shape (or similar) so if I do push it hard it will have a good drift... Just not sure how well a luge drifts...

Thanks
It just depends on the way it is setup....
Old luge with pegs were easy to slide. Put your weight in the front on the pegs, try to turn suddenly and hop... you slide...
You can still do it with all the luge... it's just a little harder since they grip a lot more today (they are more "made to turn " so...
I have a hard time sliding an SC8 or a Rogers for exemple... but it's still doable

Thanks Yeah my setup is most likely going to be pegless (looking into pegged but 99 percent sure Ill go without) with 2 bear grizzly trucks and 75a flywheels...I am not going to try to slide I am just worried that if I dont know what its all about and I do slide I wont no what to do...
You know?
I mean 75a flys will grip pretty good but lots of guys use those wheels with 1-2 more trucks (2 or 4 more wheels!) which adds lots of extra grip... that I wont have...
I wont try to slide but I want to know what its about just incase I do.

lol dont worry... unless someone pushes you from behind or that you do it on purpose it wont happened

The best way to learn how to drift is to ride in the wet. eventually you will be at an event where it is wet, and then you have no choice but to learn.
find a wet corner, go in slow and pick up the speed a little bit untill you break free. you can sit up to let the rear break free and use your shoulders and handel bars to control the slide.
it is safer to learn at slow speeds. (like anything else) it is a good recovery skill to own.

If you start sliding on dry you'll be passed
