Default Six Wheeled Luges

I saw this photo posted on another forum and it reminded me of the early street luge days. Back in the late 70's we were riding GMR almost daily and that's when Roger Hickey and Bob Gilbertson were dominating. Both were fans of formula one and this car was their inspiration for putting on a four wheel front end. Hickey even had a plexiglass rear wing on his with the "elf" logo painted on it! The cool thing is that it six wheeled luges actually worked and still do today. Memories...

That car was amazing and I had a poster of it on my wall. What a cool story about luge design that sprang from it. In terms of skateboard (DH) design, the P-34 was given some of the same treatment that a certain skateboard also received...and banned.

Just wondering. I've always been a sucker for unorthodox automotive design. What was the turning radius on this car like? How did it turn? I know it's not a luge question but I can't help but be curious about that car.
