Default WTB Aluminum Luge, or high quality wooden.

Ok, Somebody please help me out.
Unfortunately, I don't have the skill or the time to build one of these babies, but I really enjoy Street Luging, and thought it was finally time I should get one of my own. (Been borrowing from friend.)

I have looked on the web to buy one, but I have been unsuccessful so far.

So now I turn here...
I am most interested in an aluminum luge. Mainly the rail type (it's what I'm used to), but I'll take anything I can get really.
(As long as it's fast! Very Happy )

I'm not too keen on paying lots and lots of money, but I could easily dish out $400 if that's as low as you'll go. (Although I would rather pay $300 or less...)

Please reply here, or e-mail me with information.

Thank you,
SilentFalcon

Sorry, haven't checked on this site in a while, but I'm from Santa Barbara, CA.

I talked to Freddy (Street-Missile) and he told me they were $400 unfurnished!

Could I really get one for that price? If not, could you?

400$, oops
that the new ones with a larger truck mounting area, that accept all baseplates.
lower to the ground and a stronger, lighter pan.

300$ an older model.
I believe those ones are out of stock.
but he will build new ones.

Actually I talked to him, and he said I could buy his (being the one he races) board for $340 (plus shipping).

Thanks.

You're killing us here. Did you buy something yet? Money is tight, we all know that. You are going to get what you pay for. A TRS or RB luge will cost you and either one will be worth the money you spend.
Or you can find a "hobby builder" and have one made.
Think about starting with a buttboard, cheaper to get into and fun to boot.

If you haven't read the more recent posts: I said, I'm going to be getting a Street-Missile by "Fast" Fred D. The particular one I'm getting though is the one he used to ride himself. I've got a nice deal. So yeah.

What sizes/types of wheels/bearings/trucks should I use on this thing?

I was thinking RII's (180mm or 205mm?), Gumballs (I have no idea what sizes!), and Swiss Precision Bearings.

That would be one sweet set-up, if you can afford the 205 randals go for it, keep in mind you will need an extra 4 bearing per truck with those R-Luge Hangers.

Gumballs only come in 76mm
I'd recommend 83mm Flys, personally, in 75a or 78a

Like AJ said, the Randal Luges are IT... but RII's, flipped with hard bushings, make great trucks too.
I run Z Rollers, and wouldn't trade them for a Victoria's Secret model.
Seriously.
