I'm always trying to decide if I want to run 75a or 78a wheels. I usually luge with 78a out of habit, but I started buttboarding with 75a grippins and liked it. I noticed that there really hasn't been much discussion on durometer on this forum besides "65d is too soft" and "88a is too hard", so does anybody have an opinion on if one durometer or the other is "better", or is it just the obvious "depends on the surface"?

80/83a are good duros on a luge... Flys are good luge wheels also

I might try out some 80a/83a front 80a back Big Zigz when I get the cash though.

I've always been partial to softerwheels. Used to run 72a! Personally I think when you start going over 80a you are starting to enter into drifting/sliding corners.
I run 75a flywheels, but 78a is not a bad wheel either. I used to run 75a grippons (which overall is a softer wheel than the flywheels) then I noticed I ran 78a last year. I'd say a 78a grippon is about equivalent to a 75a flywheel.

I don't think the surface of the road matters.
Well, couldn't ask for a better answer to my question then Chris McBride telling me what he runs! Thanks Dude!
