this was on last night,

concrete cowgirl, underground street racing, abec11 wheel catches on fire, wind tunnel testing, ceramic bearing....

it was weird...

yeah... agreed it was really weird, but cool that they talked about all that luge shit.

yes a wheel can "flame out", because of a seized bearing or other factors.

ive never heard of a wheel actualy flaming out, but i have heard of a wheel coming a part at high speeds because the urathane gets too heavy to stay attatched to the core from he centrifical force. jetluge was talking about why he cant use 97mm flys at 120mph a few months back

Do lugers really use totally ceramic bearings? I thought they were slow (compared to good metal/ceramic bearings) and very heat resistant?

a few people on here have tried the full ceramics and say they are definitly slower but good for rain, though they still need to be cleaned. i would say that very few lugers use them because of how expensive they are and that they arent too fast at the moment
