Default Drop Through Classic Luges

I have been riding classic luge for a while now and i have seen a couple of buttboards that are drop through and what advantages does this have? Also what advantage does the european Sk8 buttboard have on just regular american buttboard?

Thanks in advance.

In general a drop through deck provides more stability by lowering the center of gravity. It appears that it also offers an aerodynamic advantage (although I don't know if that has ever been proven)

What advantage does a SC8 board have? a lighter pocket book? It is a VERY nice looking board, but personally I am happy riding my Lott classic.

and for non flexible out of shape riders like myself a drop thru buttboard will make it easier to push off the start.
