Aluminum Luge Plans?
Is there an on-line site that has plans with dimensions for an aluminum luge?
If so, I would be appreciative if somebody could post the URL/address.
Thanks,

Re: Aluminum Luge Plans?
toothless is pretty close to what you're after.
They're very individual things though, so copying pan/boom measurements exactly isn't really a good idea.

Re: Aluminum Luge Plans?
Thanks. That gets me closer. I'm not looking to duplicate. I'm just trying to get an idea of basic/general dimensions, materials specifications, etc.
Still haven't seen anything that gives an idea about body pan width and length?

Re: Aluminum Luge Plans?
well it should be made to fit your body, so I'd say measure yourself.
then you need to position the trucks so you get a 60% front 40% tail weight ballance.
also look at this
http://streetluging.free.fr/english_...nstruction.htm
and
http://www.skateluge.com/stguide.htm
and basically google for as many images as you can.

I'm planning on building a pegless, how would i go about making sure 60% on my weight is in the front, and how would i be able to measure it?

2 scales, a smidge of maths.

Re: Aluminum Luge Plans?
Don't forget to measure the weight when you are laying down on the luge and not for the luge only
About the weight balance I would like to mention the golden ratio, which seems to work very well.
Another thing: measure the weight balance, when you simulate a slight turn by lifting your upper body a little bit, because for going straight, it is not so important how your wheels are loaded.
Make sure, that you leave a few inches in your design before and behind your rear trucks, to correct the weight ratio for your riding style, which you can only find out while riding.
(Steve, one scale will also work. Place it under the front truck and a book under the rear truck and vice versa.)

No. The Golden ratio for the weight balance is approximately 62/38, like you can see here
Sorry for the confusion.

Ahhh yes Mr. Lang ...
I knew it must have something to do with the quadratic equation
