Compared to standup I find buttboarding more stable if it's on a deck made for buttboarding. Comparing buttboarding to luge I find luge more stable.

I have always found buttboarding to be more stable than standup. Maybe you were taking the name too literaly and sitting up too much. You should be lying down just like a luge. I feel comfortable buttboarding up to about 45 mph and that's only because I haven't had the opportunity to go faster.[/list]
