Wood street luge

I was wondering have anyone ever built a street luge out of wood? I built myself a street luge out of woods from home Depot or Lowes and It work really good. I used the same setup from my Evo. Me and my friends top the luge at 33mph on a hill that you normally top 24 mph on a longboard.

Oh right.... I forgot to mention that the wood is rotted and cracking apart, they are like 10 years old. I just going to buy some nice fresh woods, rebuild it, and coat it in dark grey wood stain. What you think?

Have you ever read Street Luge Survival Guide by Darren Lott?

If you haven't, then you should. It's amazing, great advice on setups. (It is a little old, so the trucks, wheel advice is a little out of date.) And the info is all great for DH too!

It did wobs alittle... I just made some adjustments and it run great. I just ripped it apart and am working on the new one. I will get the front truck closer to my butt.

I have the specs on my computer, pm me if you want them.
Depending on wood quality, with $25-60 worth of plywood you can make 3 of them.
They can be CNC'd. I had a friend plot out 1-to-1 and help me cut it out with a jigsaw.
I don't know of anyone that sells them. It is Darren Lott's design so if anyone is selling the he is?
It's dropped and very long so it not in the buttboard category. Lott won a few races on this design if I'm not mistaken. His looks way cooler though:

In the early-mid 80's we were building them out of wood. They looked VERY similar to what you show (texasEVO). we typically used 70mm red Krypts, and they would burn up sometimes. The 4" UFO's were too tall, and too hard to get by that time.

We have one of those old wood luges at a local shop, I will try to snag a pic. It is outfitted with ACS 650's and shag carpet for that ultimate comfortable feel.
