QFT. My friend has stock S9 78a wheels and before he can barely slide.Now my friend learned how to check slide/speed check. His wheels are way worn down after many months of riding. Just keep going at it and you'll do fine.

Those are not Monsters either. If you pause it when he shows his board they don't have the thin rims and wide stance of a monster. Those are regular Hawgs, which I should have got.

they will eventually break in but they are much better for speedboarding

Um first off, thanks for the vote of confidence. Second, do you have Hawgs or Monster Hawgs? BIG difference. Not even the same wheel. If I had Hawgs I wouldn't have this problem.

Incidentally I found wheels that I think are better for me. Abec11 Strikers in 66mm84a.

It was a joke I started on another forum and it had reference to the guy who went crazy with the armor plated bulldozer. He tore his town up in protest against his local govt. for screwing him over. So now I just use it. Easy to remember. I don't share his views as to why he did what he did, but it's a homage to people who push buttons thinking there are no repercussions.

Seems like it was all shot in one day. I'm pretty sure he used the same wheels (78a 85mm Hawgs) throughout the whole video.

Killdozer you could try radiusing the Monsters. If the urethane is anything like the freeride Hawgs, they'll slide wonderful. But with any Hawg, you have to take a long time breaking them in before they'll want to slide.

i have 84a 66mm strikers; my friend has 84a 77mm strikers. they are slow. when you switch to them from gumballs or bigzigs you end up leaning over the front of your board on each push because they feel so slow. the slide is great, but the speed leaves much to be desired.

However, it seems like you seem to know what's up. Thing is, you have to accept that since you're first starting to slide, any wheel is gonna slide pretty badly for you, well, because you're bad at sliding. Everybody's been there. Eventually you'll get better at sliding, the wheels will break in, you'll get more comfortable going faster, and you'll have a big AH-HA! moment when they start sliding like butter. Keep at it brah, you'll get 'em sliding smoothly in no time.
