Toeside Pendy Help (i know, i know)
i've searched all of the threads on this already. i have a pretty specific question that apparently wasn't answered by "look over your shoulder"
before you suggest or think "go faster" i was going fast enough to slide for ~15-20 feet.
so i can toeside slide (1 hand down, 1 hand on rail) the first 180 no problem. which from what i've read, may actually even BE my problem.
after approximately a 140-180 degree slide i "look down the hill." i've tried just turning my head and looking over my shoulder and turning my shoulders as much as i could.
what i'm hoping to find out is what physically happens to cause the board to come back around. i know that when i initiate the slide the back wheels come out because i'm carving hard and pushing out a bit with my back foot in addition to putting a hand down. my friend who actually can toeside pendy suggested i push out with my front foot to bring it back around. i don't know if god gave me a different set of muscles but i don't think it's physically possible for me to push out with that foot from the position i'm in.
and before the ever present "skate more", i'm between sessions.
help appreciated, flames welcome (as long as you could be called toeside jesus)

same problem with me.
toe side pendys ruined my knee, atleast for 3-4 weeks.

Re: Toeside Pendy Help (i know, i know)
What helped me when I learned them was that it was a completely different mindset then a ts 180. When I initiate the slide I think of it as more swinging the board around to the one side and then trying to bring it back around. During the slide when I swing the board to the one side I keep my head facing downhill as much as I can and get the board to slide back to normal. My advice would be to keep trying it over and over till you get the jist of it. Hope that helps

Well you already seem to know what everyone is going to say before they say it, but I will say that this slide does have a lot to do with your momentum. If what you say about your speed is true, it will be easier to do them by trying to do the slide back using your whole body instead of your just trying to control the slide with your legs. And you are right, it doesn't have to be a full 180, in fact, I see almost no one doing toeside pendys grabbing rail on longboard, doing them to full 180 and back.

A longboard is a skateboard in the same way a MILF is still a mother.

skate more. and yes i'm toeside jesus- check out my big toesides around 50 seconds in.
but really..... keep looking down the hill the whole time and you won't rotate around into the 180.

now ponder this... do you ride the board, or does the board ride you?

Re: Toeside Pendy Help (i know, i know)
You should stop grabbing rail since it's preventing you from extending your legs. When you're ready to swing back, extend your front leg (left if you're regular) and retract your back leg. This way you can force it, but once you get the hang of it and practice more you will start controlling it with your hips and spine more and then it won't look like you're just shifting the board back and forth with your feet, but swinging your entire body like a pendulum.
Also, feel free to put both of your hands down if it helps. It's perfectly acceptable with toeside slides. 1 handed toes are cool too, though.

If you go fast enough, you never have to look back.

there have been times where it has, in fact, ridden me. it's humiliating.

i probably should've clarified i'm trying to get these toeside pendies down for dh purposes. predrifting and all that. i appreciate the advice though.
guess i'll work some more on looking down the hill and not letting the board swing the 180.

Yeah I'll probably be at pennsyltucky, Dean knows how to throw an awesome race.
If you're still are working on it then I'll try to give you some pointers.
