    Default Hardware snapping after sliding

    I've been doing a lot of sliding on my dervish recently (just hands down toe side slides) but yesterday two of my hardware bolts on my front truck (gullwing chargers) snapped off after a couple slides. Have this ever happened to anyone? I took off the truck itself later and the other bolts were bent. I've had the board and setup for over a year but I think the bolts should last longer

    Were they tightened down enough? This shouldn't happenand I've never heard of anything this bad.

    Yeah they were tightened well enough. I'm careful with it too so I havent thrashed it around and stuff. Luckily it didnt harm the board itself but could the bolts be faulty/weak?

    Ahh, it happens. Good excuse to change your hardware, which you should do once a year anyways. Not that I do...lol

    dervish = drop-thru

    drop-thru + countersunk hardware =

    drop-thru + buttonhead hardware =

    Regular skate hardware (countersunk) is put in a really weak position when dropped-thru, and is more likely to break

    buttonhead, or panhead hardware can be found ar your local hardware store. if in CA, go to osh. they have a good assortment of everything you need.

    the bolts are 10/32 panhead bolts. you can get 25 1.5 inch long ones for a couple of dollars. and a box or 100 locknuts of like 3 dollars. then if you really care, you can get some #10 3/16 washers to put on the locknut side of your dervish. look in the Stainless steel bolts, and you should be good to go. for 7 bucks you can assemble 3 boards, and afford to swap locknuts when they no longer stay tightened.

    The bolts actually were panhead, which made the snapping all the more surprising. But thanks for the measurements, I'll be sure to look for those

    Truss headed hardware is actually stronger than pan headed hardware.

    The cone shape has more strength than the sharp 90* change that the pan headed has.
