Gravity Slidefest 2009! Who will dominate? Brazilians or Canadians?

I have been seeing some sick slide videos coming out of Brazil! I heard that there is a plane full of Brazilleros coming to San Diego in November, Sergio Yuppie and Guto Lamera included. The Canadians rocked Oceanside last year! I am curious, who will dominate this year?

grassyass mi amigo, but i won't be competing this year due to living somwhere where there are absolutely no hills within about 200 miles, therefore not being able to practice. The only real hill i've slid all year was in June @ Watchtower in NYC and that was only a couple of short seshes.

my money is on the Brazilians... it's pretty clear that they're still miles ahead of everyone else (as they should be, given the time they've had a strong sliding scene)

New this year is a Freeride division for the guys that ride soft wheels and throw standup slides, and old school tricks.

$2500 purse, pro skater judges, socal weather, good times.....

while i love the brits, and they're all great skaters that pull of some amazing ish... no one has gotten remotely close to Sergio except for Brazilians (mostly related to him) and one Canukistani.

you can be ubertech all you want, but if you're not going Sergio speed, you're not gonna get close to winning slidefest and it takes practicing at that speed to compete at it.

the judging over the years has never swayed toward super-tech tricks

Yes, and we're not going to regulate equipment (ie: durometer). The judging will be based on the disciplines not equipment, so you'll have a pretty hard time in the Freeride category riding hard wheels and using gloves.
