Default Carbon Fiber or Bamboo layer in shortboards for sliding?

Has anyone tried those skateboard/shortboard decks which have a layer of carbon fiber or bamboo for sliding? I enjoy the lighter weight of those decks, but I don't have one to see how the weight or construction may affect sliding.

I think it possibly could make no difference because I wouldn't be flexing the board and using that vertical pressure strength of those special layers, but maybe someone has noticed some definite differences during sliding? I can't vouch for my own ideas if I don't actually own such a deck. Thanks.

on top of having a nice bit more pop than an all wood equivalent, my SY33 is a good bit lighter.

For me, lighter = easier to control in spins, which would seem to be verified by basic physics

and makes a decent bit of difference when lugging it back up the hill for the hundredth time

I think, Earthwing is using a Thermo-plastic weave to reinforce their decks. My Drifter deck works awesome, and I like the light and stiff properties that this weave adds to the deck. I don't think I would like bamboo, being that it mostly offers flex to a board, and my style of sliding benefits from a stiffer deck, that easily transfers energy. I think that carbon fiber would work similar to Earthwing's Thermo-plastic, maybe even better!
