Getting low on toeside pendy's
I can't seem to get my butt out of the air when I am doing them. When I try to bring my body into a pushup position my toes come off of the board and flip the board over. Any tips? thanks

Dont think about the position of your ass think of the position of your hands, hands farther out= smoother slide.

Re: Getting low on toeside pendy's
Ok. Where do I want my feet to be positioned on the board when doing toesides in general?

Have where your toes connect to your feet on the rail.

Well I got it!!! Nice and low like a push up. Now I just need to find a better hill and slide gloves.

Re: Getting low on toeside pendy's
question: i can't for the life of me t/s pendy my ns heist (set-up with some purple durians) but i can easily pendy my buddy's shortboard. now aside from the shorter wheelbase and harder wheels, i though about how the trucks are nowhere near as loose as a longboard's. i run my trucks as loose as possible, would tightening them help my situation??

Re: Getting low on toeside pendy's
From my experience I find that loose trucks are easier to slide just because you can lean more and turn tighter which puts more stress on the wheels making them break loose faster. Also when my trucks were tight I couldn't do a toeside pendy without the board flipping over when I got up on my toes on the edge of the board. If that makes sense.

Re: Getting low on toeside pendy's
very true, makes sense. practice makes perfect i guess haha. i'll go see what i can do to make this thing work

Re: Getting low on toeside pendy's
try going faster. hard wheels can slide at slower speeds so you need to go a bit faster to do the same slides on soft wheels.

no, it's never the equipment just the rider. go faster and throw them wheels out.

Re: Getting low on toeside pendy's
yea, when your comming in toeside, get low, wind your body the opposite direction and then spin your whole body into your toeside making sure of course that your gloves meet the ground and not your face. This will give you more momentum to break and a faster whip will allow your board to want to come back naturally out of the pendy. Hope it helps

Re: Getting low on toeside pendy's
from my experience the harder the wheels the tighter the trucks.
So if your gonna go slide on some slide a you have your trucks pretty tight
and if you went to slide some 78a gumballs your trucks should be pretty loose.
when your sliding soft wheels you need the extra leverage to help you get the wheels to break loose since they are naturally grippy. its pretty much the opposite for harder wheels, if you have really loose trucks and hard hard wheels you have less control IMO.
just my 2 cents sorry if it sounds like im just talking out of my ass

Re: Getting low on toeside pendy's
Try to position the lower part of your back leg (knee to ankle) closer to parallel to the board on the inside rail while keeping the knee safely off of the pavement. This should help lower your hips.
