Default Need help on Sliding Set up

Hey, im kinda new to sliding on longboards and I need help on a new set up. I usually roll on the boardwalk from Mission beach to Tourmaline. Right now im rocking an all orginal Padang Padang Sector 9 http://longboardz.de/cms3/images_shop/s_9_padang.jpg

I used to only use it to ride my with buddies back and forth to the beach in Florida, but on flat days im noticing myself doing some "Drunk Walking" on it while waiting for swells. The reason im asking for help is because im actually really decent in sprays in surfing and carving in snowboarding and I noticed I get a lil nervous when I dont feel the slide I should feel.

Well dude if you like snowboarding sliding then get a freebord, because longboarding is not the same as snowboarding (obviously). It sounds like you just need really slidey wheels. If you insist on having a longboard, get some freebord slashers so you can lose grip really easily. In longboarding its harder to lose traction then it is in the other sports you mentioned, so don't expect to be all over the place like you are in snowboarding when you're on a longboard.

Thanks, I'll look into the set up. Im riding right now with very very loose trucks. Should i tighten them up to get a firmer slide out of them?

maybe tighten them up a little bit if they r relly that loose..

loose trucks are good for sliding bc they give u more leverage to put the board into a slide
