Stand ups?
I got a set of Indy/Core 215s with some Yellow Durians on a trimmed S9 that im trying to learn stand ups on.
Are there any hints or things I need to look out for? Im having trouble getting the front wheels to slide out. and getting it back to straight. Also confidence is sort of low since im at a loss for how to do it right.

Re: Stand ups?
Yellow Durians are super slide apparently. On 83A Stimulus, I've had my back end slip out while standing twice now. Both times it was 20+ km/hr, while carving hard. Both times I was twisting my hips and swinging my arms toward the heelside, at the apex of a heelside carve.. But both times it was just a little bit of a scrub, didn't really even hear it :/
Watch the Gravity standup slide help on YouTube.. Even though they're on hard wheels, it's the same motion for soft wheels, just more force.

Re: Stand ups?
search in the trick tips area, theres a whole lot of tips for you in there.
its all about unweighting the deck and using your shoulders.

Re: Stand ups?
its like impossible to NOT slide with those wheels. just throw your arms into it, start low, and as you carve, unbend your legs to unweight the board.
you just highlighted my signature for no reason other than it consists of a empty space. good for you!

YES I forgot this. Bend legs into carve, stand up as hard as possible while leaning forward, right at the point where you feel the most Gs!

Re: Stand ups?
mess around with speed checks a lil. carve toeside and then when you carve back heelside, pop a squat, weight towards ur front foot, and with ur back heel a lil over the rail push it out sidways.
bam. speedcheck.

Don't lean back too hard. You will break your ass.

lean back HARD. you will break your ass and not your face. seriously, when doing heelsides, especially at speed, its always better to fall on your ass.

how bout dont lean HARD, lean the right amount to slide?
try not to focus on just leaning. use your shoulders!!!! if you lead with the shoulders and unweight the board right you will slide regardless of how hard you are leaning.

Re: Stand ups?
I learnt on purple Blastwaves, They slide quite smooth, but are probably not as good as the current free ride wheels from Tangs.
The most important thing I found was to really squat into the slide for heelside, this helps keep your weight over your heels, and therefore stops your toeside wheels from gripping and stopping the slide early.
My kind of slide when I was learning went, squat, turn in hard, unweight the board just as the wheels start to let go, keep weight over heels and front foot, rotate upper body.
Took me ages to do my first 180, like a week of practicing for 2 hours a day.
Keep practicing, and keep your speed up. A slick road surface helps.

It's all about the unweighting. I was thinking just the same thing before I learned it, had to go quite a bit faster than I have to now. Practice on wet ground, you need a lot less speed then, that's how I learned it
Here, vid of me doing a low speed 180:

Re: Stand ups?
weight on front foot,
bend your legs like you were going to 'take a seat',
drop your back knee into your front knee
carve into it
twist your shoulders to face downhill and at the same time push out with your feet, especially your back foot, at least until the board is sideways.
use your hands to counterbalance. its really about just committing, bending your legs and in twisting your whole body and board into a slide.

thats sort of what iv been trying to do, i can get a little speed check from a small carve at pushing speeds but not enough confidence for a 180 i guess, im gonna hit a few hills and mess around. the wheels are crazy easy to slide out its just making them do what i want when they do
