Default Photo and observations on the making of sliding gloves...

They came out pretty nice, but if you add up the materials, It's cheaper to buy them! Only, I couldn't find any in stock anywhere. That doesn't take into account my time spent researching, finding and ordering the materials and the actual assembly. That would put it off the charts! It was fun though. Here's the cost breakdow
$25- Gloves from Home Depot (could have bought cheaper ones, but I wanted something to match the quality of the gloves on the market, and they look sweet!).
$16- Sheet of 1/4" UHMW plastic and industrial velcro plus shipping from McMaster and Carr.
$5- Marine Goop adhesive from Home Depot (like Sho-Goo only stronger!)

Holy cow I have those same Mechanix gloves. Except I use them for my job, not longboarding! But they are really nice gloves. I think I'm gonna make some out of my older work gloves.

    my gloves cost me nothing.

I got the construction gloves for free from work. I grabbed the cutting board from the kitchen and used an oxy-acetelyene torch I already had.

    How about this:
    $3 gloves from Home Depot
    $2.50 Goop from Home Depot
$7 velcro- a yard (So I can make another pair if I want)
$3 a cuttingboard from Value Village

    Total: $15.50

Not bad. Decent gloves. Fun time.

I think I'm going to use the torch technique next time. Big time saver.

    Target worked for me.

    $2 work gloves
$2 cutting board (makes 2-3 pairs)

Every young (or old) man should have a hacksaw and a propane torch lying around.

Also someone had an excellent idea: Put a screwdriver in the fingers and melt plastic (using the plastic tubes from a pen) on to the finger tips.

Don't put your gloves on too quick after you melt the plastic on, it kinda sucks.

    $2 work gloves
    $3 cutting board
1 drywall screw and a torch

You don't have to wait a day to use them and the pucks stick like hell.

Tell the home depot people you found the gloves in the $2 mix and match bin. My friend did this with like $25 gloves. Some of the employees won't buy it but someone will. Then take a cutting board from work. Then melt the gloves on and you have sweet sliding gloves.

Top of the line gloves for $2
