Get conventional-type trucks. Indy, Krux, Core, Tracker, Orion, etc.

Mark, I'll probably get some Indy's from you and a set of those Pink Polka Dots.

If you want to save a few bucks, consider the Core or Krux. Basically the same geometry, just a little cheaper.

My girl rides Krux and loves them (thanks to MHM advice)

I trust you on that one, Kai.. and Mark too. The trucks are basically going to go on my sliding board, and mainly used for sliding or hitting the concrete park or any ditches.. ha.. yeah, if I can find any...

What's the difference between the Core and Krux? I currently have a set of R2-180s on my BE40" (23" WB) and I can do heelsides and toeside 180s pretty consistently, I can do an odd pendulum now and then, but the issue I'm having is that it seems like it's kind of hard to break my wheels into a slide. Once I'm in the slide I'm fine except for the fact that I often need to push so hard in the slide that I spin really fast once the wheels start to slide. Do you think a pair of Core 6.0 trucks would make breaking into a slide easier?

The Core and Krux trucks are both made overseas, and have Indy-type geometry (straight pivot, low profile). Both have button/stud-type kingpins, but changing them is pretty easy. The Cores have a hex-shaped cavity, which makes fitting a conventional grade-8 easier, however. The stock Krux bushings are nicer than the ones that come on the Cores, so that's something to consider. Ride wise, they're about the same. For the money, I don't think you can touch the quality and performance of the Cores.

Sliding-wise, I find that slides are easier on conventional type trucks. I've had several different trucks on my Hyper-Carve, and the easiest to slide have been Cores. Randals, Seismics, and Crails all "stick" more, and hare harder to break into a slide.

Hmm.. ok, so a pair of Core 6.0 for my BE40" (versus the Core models)? With Indy Red Bushing replacments. I have 2.75" and 3" Grade-8 that I got from you for my Randals, I figure the 2.75" should be fine as I don't do grinds. Arg... shipping is like $7 though (compared to $32 for the trucks and bushins) you don't happen to be going to Morro Bay (I'm toying with driving down from San Francisco). Trying to think what else I could toss into the buying spree.

So Core 6.0 trucks, Red Independent Bushings, do you recommend wedges? You mentioned a pair of 5* wedges (+5/-5) in another post, I'm most used to riding R2-180s, with a bit of time on +7/-7* RTX/RTS 138mm trucks.

    Thanks.

Maybe wedge the front. The wheelbase on the BE isn't all that long, so you probably don't need to wedge both.

Yea, only like 23". Ok, I'm just going to take them over to Purple Skunk and try out a bunch of hand/soft wedges then. I guess I should try to keep the truck heights the same. So anything else you'd recommend? Would Khiro Barrel Bushings work in Cores (I have a set of soft Blues)? Or should I stick with the Indy Red Bushings?
