Default What dedicated sliding board is the best for me?

Hey, I've been sliding on my old shortboard but am really starting to feel the need for more footspace. So, I'm thinking about getting a pool board sort of thing for sliding only.

My question is... what's the best length to get for someone who is almost 5'10" and still growing? I've heard great things about the 36" boards like the Gravity Team model or even the Schmitt Stix Yard Stick, but apparently the BE40 is great as well.

Any thoughts/suggestions on which deck to get? What are you guys sliding on?

I'm sliding on a BE and think its great. A really good choice if your coming from short board to longboard. I think its going to have a bit better concave/rocker than the Pool. I'm 5' 11" and think the length is just right.

something between 36" and 40" will be good. wheelbase is quite important as it affects how fast you spin - something between 17 and 22" is good.

but you really can slide anything - i ride a 58" lush kisiwa as my sliding board and its awesome!

don't feel you have to get a certain length - a shorter board is better for spins and some tech slides, but a longer board is much more stable at speed (read: longer slides), genarally corners a bit better, and it makes boardwalking and switch slides easier as you've got more dack to play with.

    thanks, rich.

i have a 43" longboard deck lying around that i might turn into a high speed sliding sort of thing... so i might end up going with a 36" newschool shape for the techy stuff.
