    Default help with toe-side slides

I am new to sliding and just picked up the toe-side slides. I am able to slide to a stop but have a lot of trouble bringing the front back forward to continue down the hill I usually end up doing a 180. Any pointers on how I can shave off some speed like this and keep going straight?
    Thanks,
    Dane

    In short,

    1. Go faster, if you can do a 180 you can do a pendy.

    2. Don't break your stance, don't shift your weight. Keep your weight on that rail.
The sage, Longboard Buddha once said, "A tree spends 100% of its lifetime in a static environment and only after its reincarnation as a deck is it allowed to move at fast speeds...
when allowed, the wood will give thankless service if
    allowed to flow."

Speed man, Just commit to it and keep the weight on the rail. If you are going fast enough it will come back, if you keep riding it out fakie with little speed it wasn't enough speed

right now my shoulders are facing directly up the hill with my hands out infront of me. I always find myself looking directly up the hill while I am sliding. am I meant to spin my head around and look down the hill behind me?

To bring it back around you'll need to look down hill again.

try unloading the weight from your front foot and press on the rail in the direction you're sliding. Your board should want to follow around and continue in the way you were moving, which btw, i've found works best if right before you initiate the slide, be pointed straight down the hill. if this still doesn't work, try picking up your hand and grab the rail.

    Default bring it back around.

when you finish a toe slide - you have to bring your body back to the board.
start by looking back down the hill towards your lead foot and bring your lead hand back to the board/down the hill. even if you do not get back down the fall line, you can grab the rail and carve it around.

    good luck

    speed is the key.

just like malakai said, dont unlock your weight... if you're going fast enough, the board will come back around on its own. if the board doesn't come around... go faster and you'll get it.
