    Default Thinking out loud... (gloves)

I've got all the bits-n-pieces, and I'm getting ready to make the first batch of prototype slide gloves. I've gone over everything in my head dozens of times, but wouldn't mind some feedback on my procedures/steps before the actual execution.

Attaching velcro to puck -- Spread layer of Shoe Goo on backside of puck (backside of puck has been slightly sanded and cleaned with rubbing alcohol). Attach velcro (stiff side) to puck, place on flat surface, and cover with cardboard or similar material. Place flat, heavy object on cardboard. Let dry overnight.

Attaching velcro to glove -- Insert non-stick plastic into glove (between palm and back). Spread Shoe Goo onto backside of velcro (soft side). Attach velcro (soft side) to glove (palm), place on flat surface, and cover with cardboard or similar material. Place flat, heavy object on cardboard. Let dry overnight.

    Am I forgetting anything?

if you havent sanded the puck yet, the adhesive on the velcro is enough to keep the puck on. and i have found that a combination of the adhesive and some good ol sewing gets the velcro on the glove.

Pucks haven't been sanded yet. Not sure what you mean about the adhesive on the velcro, though.

Also, the gloves we're using have small cuffs, and you can't get access to the inside for the appropriate stitching.

the majority of "industrial strength" velcro has adhesive backing. the stuff i got at home depot actually stuck pretty well. i had a cuff problem similar to yours and used staples but im sure shoo goo will work. although my staples havent stabbed me, they easiliy could.

your procedures will work fine...it is definitely important to let them sit overnight or you risk the glue not drying completely

I have found the rougher the better for the pucks. I used to use a dremel with the cutting disc to score the puck. Give the goo something more to grab onto.

did you buy velcro & shoe-goo yet? if not i suggest the extra-sticky adhesive backed velcro from mcmaster-carr. the sticky stuff stuck to my pucks and my gloves great, no need for messy glues either. would probably work well for you.

put the soft part of the velcro on the puck, it waers down quicker so when you replace the puck you also replace the more worn down side of velcro
