Silverfish Longboarding.com is proud to be a sponsor of this event. Michael Bream and the Gravity crew are working hard to ensure this event is large, well-organized and that it will set the standard for future slide competitions.
We'll be there to cover the event, and hope to see hoards of Silverfishers there, too! Get your airline and accomodations figured out soon, so you can cut costs and post that you're coming.

There's only one problem I envision with those rules. You say that nothing besides the hands may touch the ground?
Think about Sergio and his knee down slides, many riders from BC use this style and will be attending the comp. I think that knees down should be allowed as long as the person is using them in the same fashion a hand is used such as in a slide.

Knees down
Crank it not an issue look again the knees down rule is only for the longest slide competition and you shouldn't be dropping a knee for that any ways. for the slope style nothing is mentioned just says best runs move on.

what about deadhead slides? pivoting around your helmet instead of on your gloves......... heheheheheh, heads should be allowed to touch the ground as well...

Okay, here's an update fresh from Breamo:
--GRAVITY BASE CAMP: if you are coming to San Diego and need a place to stay, Gravity has you covered! Have you heard of San Elijo State Beach? (look it up!). The Gravity crew will tow Breamo's camp trailer and gear out to a "prime spot" they scored in the campground and there's room for 8 skaters to sleep, free. TWO have confirmed already. If you want to crash there, RSVP to Michael by email (soon, brothers and sisters!, soon!) at: michael@gravityboard.com
--Gravity Base Camp at San Elijo State Beach will also be the location for the Post Event Party/Celebrations. Directions available at the event, of course.
--Special Considerations for the Venue: Loretta Street starts in a residential neighborhood, where we all have to park and behave. The neighbors are cool, but it's crucial that we are, too.
* for parking: It's better to park further away than to crowd close; don't snake any resident's prime-looking spot; smile and be nice; no trash or butts anywhere!! Turn down that fine stereo --in SoCal, this is one way to ensure it's still there when you come back, anyway. Ha ha!
* skating: be chill about skating in the public streets other than Loretta. Please don't practice or skate around up on top in the residential streets and driveways. Save it for the hill, and there will be plenty of time to practice before and to session, afterwards!
* hill prep/clean: got a push broom? Bring it and help with the pre-event sweepage. More people means less time and effort!
See you there!!
