stand-up slide help
Hey, I just got into sliding and I need alot of help. I looked up tutorials and i got the concept down but most of those video's are of people going downhill. I live in Florida and there aren't big hills unless i drive about 20 minutes to get to a small - decent sized hills. Which are the easiest slide's to learn and do on flat ground or without much speed. Does check slides and 180 front and back slides go in the easy catagory? If you can please post up tutorials and maybe how to do the slides?

I'd start with gloves down type slides - like colemans or pendies. They're a lot easier i reckon. And they give you a feel for sliding before moving onto standies.

Re: stand-up slide help
I actually got stand up slides pretty easy and I still haven't gotten the hands down ones... Maybe it's a snowboarder thing, idk.

No - not if you've got reasonably slidey wheels. I learned colemans on a very, very gentle slope on lime retro freerides, no probs.

You can do better than that for much cheaper. Check out cult classics, metro motions, abec 11 freerides, venom tweakers, hesher snowballs, and tons more.

Re: stand-up slide help
Where in florida do you live? I hit up a lot of parking garages in south florida for slide practice.

Re: stand-up slide help
Alright thanks Addicted Crusier, and I live in NW Florida in Pensacola. Also what wheels do you recommend that are good for slide only? Ones that are easy to push into stand-up slides, and that give alot of speed. thanks
