These seem....I really don't know. Sketchy?
All the ideas incorporated into the gloves make sense, though....I just don't know.

Re: The Definitive Slide Gloves Thread
Yeah, the fingers look idiotic, but the ball bearing pucks actually seem like a good idea possibly for tech sliding. Sometimes the limiting factor on the length of my layout slides is the friction on my pucks, since all my weight is mostly off my board and more on my hands. They also heat up a bunch when I slide like that. Maybe these balls bearing puck thingies are a good thing? I dunno. I'm still an uber-noob at sliding.

Re: The Definitive Slide Gloves Thread
Update on the Staron. I had a solid weekend of sliding and the staron seems to be holding up as well as the Corian. My friend liked my gloves so much we made him a set, completely out of Staron. They seem to be holding up great.

Hahaha, those are some obscenely complicated gloves! The only advantage I can really see is that they allow for individual finger movement (which isn't really necessary, but it would be easier to carry your board with i guess) as opposed to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle style three finger gloves. Either way, some leather workman's gloves, velcro and corian samples would do just fine for $45 less (and will probably last longer)

you can just buy it, its sooooo cheap. i bought some and made finger pucks. then i jacked some road turtles and glued it all down to my gloves with shoe glue. works perfect. try those road turtles. they dont wear down too bad.
So I traveled in a wagon with George W. Bush, Dick Cheaney, John Ashcroft, and Condoleezza Rice. During the journey, the group encountered a case of cholera, a broken arm, two wagon fires, one fever. Condoleezza Rice got fleas and died, but that's because she was having relations with the oxen. Dick Cheaney got bitten by a snake. Ashcroft - he ended up dying of dysentery. and bush got killed by indians. but thats the Oregon Trail for you.

Re: The Definitive Slide Gloves Thread
road turtles or the little round road reflectors are great. shoe goo or shoe glue, its really cheap and ment to bond to all those materials. in all the slide gloves i have made, using this stuff is way easier than epoxy or whatever else you find. its made to flex once bonded which is a plus also and it bonds to leather, plastic, cloth, and rubber very well. you want some picts of my gloves?
each pair lasts around 5 or 6 months of use for me. those road "pucks" are very easy to find.
i have found that slide gloves can cost under 5 dollars to make using my method.
go to a dollar store and find fitted work gloves that have the velcro strap (like mechanics gloves)
get some shoe goo ($5 a tube will last you quite a few gloves)
find some road pucks on the side of the road
and get four or five samples of corian from home depot for free (cut the fifth in half if you want one on your thumb)
