It depends on the material you want to cut. I've used cutting boards (I don't know if this phrase is used in English...In Germany its called Schneidebrett) from IKEA. They are called "Legitim". It feels like cutting soap. Every available saw will do it.

Too bad those gloves will fail miserably in the exact same way. Loaded gloves blow. Live and learn.

if you cut off the cuff and take out the foam wrist thing they arnt half bad.... you also need to replace the pucks... not at all worth the money but if they are free or you win them just use them or give them away

I like the second pair with the Velcro strap and gel fingers look like they would make a nice glove and stay on as far as the others i used an old pair of leather work gloves and haven’t had any problems so I don’t think the Kevlar is necessary.

Edit: My next mission is to make some slide gloves out of some Halloween themed glove like a wolf paw or something. But everything I’ve found is made of flimsy fabric :/. We’ll see if I get around to it before the end of October.

Second pair'll work better. Material used isn't really gonna factor into the equation much (although, knuckle protection is always a plus). Thing you really want to worry about is having them come off your hands, in this case, prevented by the velcro straps. Plus, with some industrial strength velcro, and free corian, the gloves shouldnt be more than $20.

Apparently, all you have to do is go to Home Depot (or Lowes I guess) and tell them you're remodeling your kitchen. Then ask for free samples of Corian.

yup, thats all there is to it. Find the kitchen/interior section, tell 'em your mom heard you were coming down to Home Depot, that you're remodeling your kitchen soon and she wanted to pick out some samples. If you get a good guy, he'll probably let you take as many as you need - just make sure they're all different colors! if not, you see where its kept. After he gives you a few, come back and complete the set!

I've got a question when using velcro. I haven't been able to find the answer to this so here it goes. How much velcro should one be using to attach the pucks to the glove? Enough to cover the entire surface of the puck? Also, should one add glue to the adhesive backing of the velcro to reinforce it? Thanks!

When i made mine i just used industrial strength Velcro that i bought at home depot and stuck it directly onto my cutting board pieces and the gloves and they work great, I didn't use any glue, i would assume it would help strengthen it. don't quote me on that though.

Most glues don't bond with polyolefin plastics.
The 'Industrial' velcro likely sticks better than any glue that isn't very specifically formulated.

If you can't get industrial velcro like us taswegians
You can prepare the plastic for gluing using a toluene based spray. (nasty stuff)
you can get them easily from auto stores for prepping plastic for spray painting.

We get the loop stitched to the palm pretty cheaply. the price of this would be a variable
but it's worth doing if they're good gloves.
The earth shall inherit the meek.

Sweet! Thanks fellas! How much velcro are we talking though? Enough to cover the entire surface of the puck?

i dont cover the whole puck because it seems to stay on good enough with only 2/3 covered, and i dont want to cut more velcro to fill in the gap. but it works good for me.

I just made these yesterday, i got some work gloves and a big roll of industrial strength velcro from walmart and i bought the little tile pieces from lowes for 2.99 for 12. So far they seem to work well for me, i havent used them much but my friend tried them and ripped off to of the tiles on one hand and i needed to to minor repairs, i think im going to sew the velcro to the glove so that dosent happen again. The pucks seem to be holding well, they are basically stone. Any opinions on how to make these better?
