Table saw, Plastic blade.
Bandsaw might work, jigsaw might work...
But with both of thoes you'd probably end up getting the blade bound in melted plastic.
9 out of 10 instances of speed wobble are caused by alien interference.

it cuts a 1/2" thick sheet very easily.... if you're cutting, say, a 3.5" diameter rod you may have some problems

Re: The Definitive Slide Gloves Thread

Just throwing this out there for somebody to really test.
A couple of extra packs of furniture slides caught my eye in the basement this morning when doing litter box duty. Rated for like over 3000lbs (and yeah, they make moving anything I've got a breeze in the house). Readily available in a myriad of sizes in your home improvement stores, hardware stores, Walmart, Walgreens... just about anywhere. The slides have a rubber backing so they have a little flex and I guess if used for the palm, will have a little cushion to boot.
If nothing esle, I liked the feel of them them on the fingers which doesn't get as much pressure. Velcro stuck to the rubber back well. Yeah, I liked the feel of plopping down on these as opposed to the thicker pieces of cutting board or the thick stuff on my Loaded gloves.
One of you who can actually put them to the test should pick a pack up and see how they work. If nothing else, it might be convenient to keep a pack around incase you wear out/run out of your corian or whatever you normally use. Maybe?

I don't see them lasting too many slides.

Re: The Definitive Slide Gloves Thread
Hey guys, just got the materials for assembling my first glove, and a few questions pops into mind:
1. I couldn't find any free samples at the home depot, but I found a big pile of scrap floorboards.. would they be passable?
2. Is there any advantage as to which side of the velcro (grainy / woolish) to place on the gloves?
3. If not, would it be beneficial to put different side of velcros on the two gloves, so I can make better use of both sides of it when I'm replacing pucks?
-keep in mind though, I'm pretty new and haven't really started using my right hand yet.. what would be best for me?
hope that made sense,
thanks much

I made my first sliding glove 2day. took me like one hour 2 make two pairs.
I started training on sliding today aswell, nailed it after four hours.
But for my sliding glove i used: a plastic cuttingboard, pair of workgloves, a saw and a gas thingy.
Melted the plastic, waiting like 15 seconds and oit took fire, put the piece onto the glove, and kaching, done.
U can also check youtube for the making of em. that's where i learned it. And they work pretty good.
