Melted the plastic, waiting like 15 seconds and oit took fire, put the piece onto the glove, and kaching, done.
U can also check youtube for the making of em. that's where i learned it. And they work pretty good.
Alright, thanks man. What if I wanted to buy a pair?

major bump on the thread
made my first pair today. got some 1.97 gardening leather gloves today at lowes. they had corian but no free samples. only a pamphlet. i dont think those slide as well.
i ended up taking an old cutting board and cutting palm/finger/thumb pucks then melted one side with a blow torch and pushed it on/
only downside i had was that when the plastic cooled and hardened, it was extremely hard to get my fingers in some of the finger holes.
to someone thatll do this process in the future id suggest putting a wooden dowl with one flat side inside of the fingers when pressing on the boards.thatll ensure finger room when finished.

Re: The Definitive Slide Gloves Thread
or back all the puck with velcro....
then you can rotate them and exchange them when they die.

Bumping a sticky thread? How well did the melted board stick to leather?

Both good idea's but I'd go as far as to get a tighter fitting, heat-retardant pair to wear inside the slide-gloves to be when pressing into your melted puck...
...just make sure you can get um back off quick!

Re: The Definitive Slide Gloves Thread
yeah they were definitely just a first attempt and we wanted gloves. but after these #### out i might buy a puck set offline and get some velcro to make longer lasting gloves. for some reason is hard as hell to find cutting boards in this town. not at lowes. not at walmart. not a target. unbelievable.

Re: The Definitive Slide Gloves Thread
im very new to sliding and have only done standups as of now. today i decided i would make slide gloves so heres the outcome.

maybe a little overkill but i like it. i'll need to keep the velcro on the glove down better though. any suggestions to attach velcro to the glove better?

shoe goo or gorilla glue. lots of it. let it dry 24hrs for maximum adhesion.

i've tried those on a lark. they may work well for smooth surfaces like hardwood floors, but they're far to sticky and soft for roads.

and these gloves are POS's, i just ordered the landy slide gloves because these ones are having holes ripping all over.

there design is a bit dodgy, you wear down the top of the... carbonated steel or what ever it is. And theres twice as much still there to use but its buryed under plastic. Lasted me a day of hard sliding on sandpaper like surface, was a good laugh

Well there you have it. Those are kinda lame, now that I watch it happening. I think we thought it was cool before we knew it had been done already
