there is a street in ABQ, new mexico that is around 18-20% grade. not the steepest hill in the world. but the pavement is very slick and smooth for some reason. me, jon huey, james west jr, david angelus, and scott hobbs sessioned it for awhile.

basically you start a slide on this hill, even going 5,10mph, and you almost accelerate when in the slide. if you start your slide at the top of the hill you slide to the bottom. the hill is probably around 500 ft long. basically one average city block. i was probably doing 8-10 pendulum slides before getting to the bottom and rolling away.

West was the only person to do any trick slides on the hill, even pulling some nose manual stand-up slides.

it is an insane hill, we got stories from across the lake that 2 girls at uni got drunk and tried to wheelie bin race down it....apparently one cant walk and the other was pretty damn hurt...could be an urban legend though...

It snows there in winter, but I've never heard of anyone skiing down it. nobody drives on it when it snows.

They have a running race on it every year.

I've been down it on a motor bike. When I got to the bottom both front calipers were smoking.

yea hit me up, i assume you wanna ride ditches and hit some downhill runs to correct? if you can make it to santa fe (1 hour north) you should come and check out Timeship Racing's Headquarters and our skateboard school. we have a bowled in 6 ft. half-pipe to.

Hey ive been there! I agree with the person who said there is a shortage of Longboarders in New Zealand! Ive also got a bmx video and they ride down it.. I should put that on youtube. Its an insane hill, we drove up it.

Yeah you like that ####, New Zealand, duenedin is down the bottom of our south island my dad was born there and his aunty (my great auntie) lived on that street. I have been in a car going up it but not down it on a board. Im not gunna try either. Who cares anyway I live on the north island.

Nay skiiers can hit way steeper stuff than that, skiis have such better control of speed than longboarders.

That said, NO WAY IN HELL I'd do that on a board. My DH rig? Definitely, then again it has 8" discs.
