    Thumbs up Spectators

I have been sliding at a local university recently, and every time I go up to practice, I feel like I'm putting on a show. The hill is short, but other than that it is pristine. I get to really focus on learning new stuff, that I later take over to a much larger hill to put together a few lines. For about everyone walking by, this is the first time they have seen someone slide, so they do not know what to think when someone comes spiraling down their head. No, I never had made it yet, but I have never seriously injured my self either. The larger hill is not on campus, but I do gather a crowd, usually of moms and sight seer's. Occasionally I meet up with Guroo and we hold it down, but I am usually sliding by my self.

I have been hearing a lot about Johnny Law coming around and ruining peoples show, but that hasn't been the case for me. Either I get cautioned about my safety, applauded, or ignored. The campus police officer has as much authority as a State Trooper, but what can they do when the college has a Longboarding Club?

haha i get a small audience too sometimes...mostly people are like "OMG did you mean to do that?" then i gotta explain about sliding and stuff. best one i've had so far...a guy pulled off the road just as i slid by...apparently the noise totally scared him, cuz he got out and saw me and said "jeez i thought i hit something"
but yeah, i get a lot of positive comments from passersby
yes, an uber-grippy, square-lipped slalom wheel IS the best for sliding

Sliding at Blacks hill used to be like that...A whole bunch of joggers/bikers/surfers go up and down the hill all the time and we put on a show for them..Most of them think it is super rad and we always get props from people.

    DUDE.

    Best spectator story ever.

Huntsville Texas, The campus of Sam Houston State University

Around 230 in the AM. The drunk zombies have been release from there bars and night clubs. There is something about being drunk and in Huntsville texas that makes people want take up new hobbies. While we were shredding a good 100 foot drop back ally, a small audience gatherd, apearantly they had heard the wheels from quite a ways away. Im not going to lie, its not every night that I am "on it" so I was showing off, going bigger than I usually do. A couple twn foot checks right past the drunks and they had to try it. I hand him my sergio deck and gloves and pop a squat with the rest of the onlookers. This dude starts hikin the hill, which suprised me, cuz we were on the bottom of a 30 plus mph hill and he was goin to the top. I see his shirt come off and he is now like a loaded cannon. As soon as I see him step on the board in the distance, I realize I gave him my board. White khiro tops and hourglass bottoms that are barely bolted on is not exactly a stable set up. Again I am suprised, becuase I though he was going to try to slide. His intentions turned out to be a straight up bomb. As he got about halfway down the hill, the wobbles set in, probally around 15 twenty. The wisky in his legs kept him loose enough to get down another quarter of this hill and about ten more miles an hour on the speedo. Almost right in front of me, the wobbles finally kicked him, shooting the dude forward in a seaworld worthy blast of forwards inertia. The skin skid he left of the ground was about ten feet long and glistneing with sweat.

Its was the most beutiful bucket of shat stew I had ever seen someone eat.

Haha drunken sliding stories? I got one for you..

We were sliding at Blacks one day with a group of guys from the NBS and this surfer dude comes up to us and starts talking to us about how he wanted to try. He was wearing his wetsuit and no shoes and walked up the hill to try sliding. He had previously told us he and some of his friends had pounded a bottle of Smirnoff right before they left their houses, so they were all pretty drunk. He goes for his first run, puts the glove down and instantly slides out onto his back. He gets up quickly and runs back to the top to try again. Again, he slides out with no success. By this time, he had ripped a few big holes in his wetsuit, had blood coming out of a few different gashes and had torn the bottom of his feet up super bad. There were literally flaps of skin barely hanging onto the bottom of his feet. It was crazy gross, but he ended up just chillen with us until his friends came back from surfing

whenever i set up some cones for slalom at this nice mellow hill, a bunch of 6-10 year-olds show up and stare at me. One time, one of em once said, "you know... you look silly when you hit the cones" since then, ive tried to avoid cones

I let some one use my gloves once, and they ended up breaking their tibia (spelling?). I was sliding close enough to a hospital that i was able to put him on my skateboard and pull him to the front door. Didn't know he broke something until someone came out and told us.
