I put 60 grit floor sander paper on my slide deck over a year ago and it hasn't quit yet. It costs about ten bucks (american) to grip and it tears up your shoes untill you get it broken in but I'm never going to use anything else for my slide setups.

Nice I've used 3m tape before but that stuff is expensive. I have a roll of Wooster Ultragrip that really sticks that I got a little while ago, good stuff. Does the stuff you used come with adhesive on?

Yeah, bro. It comes with serious adhesive and in 12" x 18" sheets. It costs about five bucks a sheet out here in Brooklyn.

Stuff's so gnar it eats through files when trying to cut the edge. It sanded a groove in one of my tool edges as well. (Aluminum Oxide)

yeah man new grip makes a huuuge difference. when your feet start sliding off all the time, it's definitely time for some new grip

I use Edger which comes in 4 - 8"x10" sheets, or something like that. I always setup my slide decks so that there's a sheet kinda centered around the bolts.... so when you have to replace the grip, you can just swap out those two sheets, and leave the center and tails intact. makes the edger last longer, and is really easy and painless to replace

but for $5, I want to try some off that sandpaper Brian is talking about. that's hella cheap compared to Edger

I've had the pleasure of riding New Brian's boards and I ride Edger on my own slide deck, and the stuff he uses is goood stuff. Not quite as nuts as Edger, but its good enough, edger KILLS shoes.

yeah no joke, i kinda regret putting edger on my demonseed because I use it for commuting so much

I wear out my front sole faster than my footbreaking sole

    still love the stuff though!

That would suck. Then there would be no variety and Vicious would have a huge monopoly on griptape. And then all the kickflippers would cry.

I'm stoked! After months of trying, I finally got toeside 360's nailed. And the ONLY thing I needed to do was move my front foot like 2 inches inwards and it solved my problems. My front foot kept sliding off and moving it inwards two inches allowed me to dig into the concave and not slide right off the board

question: on one handed heelside 360s with the right hand on ground (goofy-foot), is there any advantage to sliding the board out before putting the hand down? it helps me rotate more on toeside 360s, but if i try sliding out before i put my hand down on heelsides, i mess up. in an instructional video i saw the dude slid out before putting his hand down and i was wondering if it was just for sexy steeze or somethin else.

It's kinda just preference. Planting your hand first gives you something solid to rotate about from the get-go, but starting it off with no hands down is lots of fun. If you don't do many standups, that's probably a nice, safe way to start getting used to the sensation of a stander, as your hand is already on its way down to catch you if you mess up.
