I'm not sure if it should be a relief or a concern that y'all have similar knee pain. I've been trying to do simple
exercises with those resistance bands. the ones where I have to extend are not bad but when I do resistance with trying to touch my heel to my but I really feel
    weakness and some pain.

I went into this fantastic sport a year ago to the month with 0 cartilage left in either knee. I played ice hockey growing up. Goalie at that! My knees would go out 4-6 times a game but played through it untill I couldnt anymore. They got so bad that they would give out just walking down the street! Now I have crazy huge stretch marks around my knees haha, oh I'm only 25 BTW. Anyways long sessions don't wear on them but if I don't take a day off after 2 or 3 days I can feel it when I go to work. All this damage keeps me from getting ANYWHERE near as low as Mr. Ed does. I also have givin up on HD toeside blunts cause if my foot slips off my knee instantly gives out. I actually stay away from HD tricks unless I'm competing cause I worry about my knees

Unless its a mini flat spot it's almost impossible to work out! Lathe it or save the other 3 and eventually you'll have random size wheels to complete other future sets that get ruined due to flat spots
Jerzey will ride the flatspot to the bearing tho, to each his own ya know?

i have like 9 jumbled slide A's at present. with three awaiting the lathe. i think acquiring a bunch of different sized wheels is just something that happens.

Do you guys use finger pucks? do you guys have old asl pucks? Make finger pucks out of them. They are soo much better then the stock loaded pucks.

i use exclusively fingerless gloves so i can text/facebook/silverfish while walking up the hill.

finger pucks are cool but i found them to be a hindrance after a while.

I used to have the clunky Loaded fingerpucks but I took them off just to see how it is and I never put them back on. I appreciate the extra dexterity, and I feel like finger pucks don't really do anything.

i put my palm pucks on the heel of my palm, like practically on my wrist. that way i don't scrape fingers.

I've heard of people plastidipping their fingers, I dont' know how well it'd work but it seems like a good idea. Anyone have any experience with this?

Edit: On a similar (well maybe not) note, does anyone have any tips for keeping pants together while learning slides? I've been falling on my ass as is expected while learning Colemans, and I'm getting the signature "below the pocket" rip on my jeans. I'm gonna cut up some old jeans and put some extra padding on my ass pockets, but anyone know any better diy solutions?

my shorts got shredded when I learned to slide. I put a huge sturdy canvas patch on and made them my dedicated skate clothes. Now my patch is starting to shred. I figure I'll just keep patching.

I have some dedicated slide shorts that are pretty sturdy, but it's too cold for shorts. Oh well, I have a couple of old jeans from when I was a big kid so I have lots of denim to go through.
