I didn't know you shot large format (those are the big cameras with the bellows right?)
Also, one more question, do you order your film online (and if so, where) or do you find it in your area?

I actually found your post when I was searching the thread earlier. I'll quote it here just to bump it because it's good stuff.
Thanks for finding that for me! Saved me a lot of digging haha.
Yep! It's a lot of work, but the negs are beautiful. I'm just getting rid of the dust from a scan from a shoot, so when that's done, I'll post it here.

As for ordering film... Well, it depends. I definitely recommend buying multiple rolls online because its significantly cheaper but if you're in need of a roll fast just go to your local brick and mortar. I like giving them some business you know? Plus I've become friends with the owner of one of my local labs and every once in a while he'll give me a free roll or two in addition to reduced development costs (Henry is the man!).
When I do order online, I'm not picky as for where from. I browse deals, and I recently picked up 6 rolls from Adorama's over stock page for about $9 cheaper (This is when I decided I hated the stuff). Otherwise I order from B&H, freestylephoto.biz is great. They have a line of film called Arista which is incredibly cheap and not bad for walk around daily shooting though I detest it for studio. Not the best films and chemicals TBH, but its cheap and nice to start off with. I'm currently investing in my own stuff right now and I'm going for Kodak chemicals. It's not much more expensive but just a bit more work.

Also, I'm going to write a newer, more in depth home development post later tonight.

I hope to one day have a wife that's as into photography as I am. You're very lucky, good sir!

Edit: Thought I'd leave this here due to the recent interest in film cameras.

Some nice shots there, I would like to see maybe a little more foreground in the first shot to make it more interesting.

Also, maybe considering working with the white balance to get rid of the exaggerated yellows and oranges. However, very good!

    Whats your setup?

Thanks bro! Yeah the first one was actually was that dark, may throw it in Lightroom and see what can happen about that. The second one it's hard to get rid of the yellows/oranges. Right over that hillside is the Los Angeles port haha. Gonna see if I can denoise/bring the balance down.

    I'm shooting with a Canon T4i and a Canon EFS 18-200

    Hey fellow shutterbugs.
I don't have a fancy rig to shoot with, just a little Coolpix L20, so I try to go for interesting composition and mood in my shots.

Here's a few of my faves from where I work.

Shot that on 4x5 film. Ilford FP4+ shot at f/8.

Missed the focus by just a little, but it did render her skin just a touch smoother. I think I need to invest in a loupe soon.

Hey guys I recently just came into a good amount of money and I want to get a nice DSLR (Seeing all the amazing photos you guys take on here has deffiently helped) im basically a photography noob. If you guys could start your whole photography career over what would be the camera you would choose? Im thinking about the Canon 60D or T4i. Im mostly gonna be using this camera for longboarding shots and for the video aspect. Or do you guys think I should buy a cheaper DSLR such as the T2i and just invents in lens? Im leaning more towards Canon over Nikon because I heard the the videos come out way better. Sorry if this wasn't the right place to put this but I would greatly appreciate some help.

I would not buy the 60d as a first camera. Look at the T2i and definitely invest in lenses. Look at the canon 50mm f/1.8 and the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 (the non VC model) for lenses. After you find your shooting style, you can decide what lenses you want to invest in, i.e. zooms or primes. I honestly don't think that for what you're doing the T4i will be a huge difference over the T2i.

If money is a concern, you can look at the Nikon D3100 as well as their 35 f/1.8 (mad jelly that canon doesn't have a decent equivalent) and the aforementioned Tamron lens. The Nikon should be cheaper and will still shoot 1080p video, but you should still do research. Also consider the fact that Nikon has kept the same mount for years so you'll be able to use many of their older lenses without the use of an adapter that can cause Chromatic Aberration and loss of light.

So, your saying I should get the T2i but im just kind of worried that it won't be able to shoot enough frames per second and i'll want to end up upgrading it right after I get it. I think the whole investing in lens over the body makes more sense though.

well, if fps is all you care about, the 7d can be had real cheap used nowadays.
look for one on your local CL for 850 or less, it's a great camera and it has 8 frames per second
