Re: aberdeenshire and surrounding area
guess you wouldn't call lochinver "around aberdeenshire" - i'm on my way up there in a few weeks with a rack of decks for my hols. couldn't miss that enticing photo you posted goodluck with the recruitment. wondered if you'd read the concrete wave article last issue - in search of mac stoke?

Re: aberdeenshire and surrounding area
hey - sorry I forgot I'd sent this out! - had a blast around lochinver but the winds and steepness scared the hell out of me. did a lot of long distance pushing which was sweet through the world's most beautiful scenery. it was all single track around Drumbeg but the surface was good enough and limited shrapnel on the road.
unfortunately I'm living in London the rest of the time but that at least means I made it to Eastbourne for the world cup! amazing stuff. worth the treck next year I assure you.

Re: aberdeenshire and surrounding area
Yo Mr Hill how goes??
I recently put a thread up on skating in and around Edinburgh, sounds as though you have a similar problem as we do with lack of riders.
We skate all over and a wee trip up to Aberdeen doesn't sound too bad. Where aboot are you??
Obviously if youre ever in Edinburgh make sure to give me a shout, we've got some crackers!!
Until then....

Hi Harry!
Didn't we meet at Transition some time ago? I'm in Aberdeen and up for trying this longoarding malarky.
My dilemma was (until now) where to find the good roads, and (of course) somebody to skate with.
So, get in touch and let's hook up!
(You can PM me or find in in Transition Xtreme)

Sorry bro, I got your message eventually, I thought silverfish would send an email telling me you had been in touch, which it never. Hence the delay.
Neil and I will head up and see you sometime, no doubt next year as the weather is starting to turn for the worst now. Saying that, we've been out and about a lot since Eastbourne. GOt some cracking new hills in and around Edinburgh now, maybe you should make it a plan to head down for a board meeting next year??
Good to hear from you bro,

if you come into findon from portlethen then this is slightly easyer.
as you follow the road down the hill just after you come into findon the road has a sharp left hand turn but there is a small road just to the right.(this is not quite on the right more straight ahead as you come down the hill.) i would sugest parking on the main roard of findon. as the sliding hill is a single lane road.
this hill is about a mile long (my estimation).
the road surface is extremely smooth all the way down.
this is a very quiet road as it only leads to a rescue boat centre.
for more info email me at:

Hmmm... there's more than one way to come into Findon.
And the link you provided takes me just to google maps, but no particular location.
Why don't you right-click in google maps in the exact road you're talking about (the beginning of it), select "What's here?" from the drop-down menu and copy the longitude and latitude that will appear in the search box?

Hey, both spots look interesting. Which road are you talking aboot as the " A " is marked on crossroads on both maps.
I'll get a few of the boys together and head up North to meet yourself and Mr Harryhill for a burn sometime in the near future. . . . . fingers crossed the weathers kind to us!

Checked them out, the first one is a bit too rough and narrow, but the second one is nice!, a bit rough but fast.
We have taken it all in one go from here: 57.093878,-2.143793
