Re: New UK Skate & Board Store Launched
Hi
That looks pretty legit, its always good to see more options for getting gear here in the UK, If you launched a couple months ago im sure i could have have skipped a lot of time money and hassle ordering my ceviche. It would be good to see some more accesory stuff like bushings etc. Also i think you might stick out more from the competition if you stocked some other less mainstream brands, for example comet which look set to become huge soon anyway (i might be biased as im leaning towards comet for my next purchase) but yeah brands that other shops dont offer. anyway website looks good maybe we shall do business in the future.
peace

Re: New UK Skate & Board Store Launched
Hi Jazz,
Thanks for the feedback. I've just got some new Khiro bushings & shock pads in stock but I haven't uploaded them to the website yet.
Also thanks for the tip on the comet boards, I'll look in to that.

Re: New UK Skate & Board Store Launched
Good site loads of choice if you like GFH Landyz and Loaded,
other brands from earthwing or kebbek or English and European
makers like Black Kross would be good
Prices are pretty competitive which is cool
Dare to be different dude

Re: New UK Skate & Board Store Launched
Huh, never knew you existed... I will remember your shop. I would very much recommend some more aftermarket stuff like bushings, bolts, etc
And stock the switch! (LY)

Do you have the gear or does it come directly from JandR? I've had bad experiences before with shops doing that.

Re: New UK Skate & Board Store Launched
Thanks for the feedback. My aim is to offer the best range of longboards around, so all your feedback will help me to achieve that.
I will be adding some new aftermarket parts over the next few days (bushings, shock pads, etc)

I just went to have a look at pads at your shop and they seem to be only directed at wee kiddies? Can you get some badass pads?

Re: New UK Skate & Board Store Launched
Hey guys...seeing as this is a bit of UK promo thread ...i'll throw this out there...
my local skate shop Backyards (i know the guys) has gone online recently
same kinda brands...from J&R which I suppose isn;t 'niche' enough but competition can only be good for prices..
so, other than Lush Longboards, what would be the decent UK longboard brands? Black Cross? The UK scene really should support the UK brands... and perhaps we should get on a UK longboarding forum? is there one tho? not enough regular UK posters on here to make it interesting?!

There's Lush, Faltown (bit dead now), Dangerous Decks and a few others.
UK longboarding forum? You mean Longboard-Sessions.co.uk - so much fun you'll sh*t yourself ! Lots of UK heads and a nice thriving scene (if I do say so myself, heh) with racing, comps and carnage! Come on over and get involved!

Re: New UK Skate & Board Store Launched
there is lush, who are awesome and are really starting to stand for something as a brand now, and dangerous decks, who are just getting started and make lovely hand made boards in london, so basically you have one great stock board company, and another great custom board company. support them both. this means buying cult wheels, sabre trucks, ect ect, and buying from british skate shops. not supporting big US brands like sector nine and loaded. i know for a fact that if you buy from lush you will be supporting the uk scene. i havnt seen loaded sponsoring any british events lately
forum? get over on the lush. theres plenty of people on there and its not quiet. and longboard sessions as gav mentioned. both are far better than here.. less noob bashing and threads about what otangs to put on a dervish.. !

There are other ways of supporting the skating industry in the UK apart from event sponsorship. KickFlipBoards.com sponsors sporting charities that teach school kids to skate for free. We also help them by giving advice and donating skating equipment. This type of approach makes a real difference because it helps to grow the industry from the roots and develop new talent.

I notice you've started stocking some Landyachtz decks now, Michael.

Re: New UK Skate & Board Store Launched
Si, pero es muy caro.
Yes, but it's very expensive. I'm off to the UK tomorrow, and I'm always on the lookout for more skate stuff. I normally wait until I need a few things and order from DBS to Spain, which costs me about $50 delivery.
If I bought a LY Drop wedge from Kickflip, even with FREE DELIVERY in the UK, it would still work out MORE EXPENSIVE than buying it from DBS and paying shipping to my home in Spain.
No wonder they call it rip off Britain.
