I've been flying with decks a fair bit the last couple of years,
I would recommend disassembling the deck entirely (even wheels off the trucks) then just sticking it all in your check in luggage.
I've used a snowboard bag before but started using a golf bag with wheels last year which helped lots for getting around with it.
Don't forget to pack your helmet!
