You don't work for TNT mag do you? they just rang me...
Anyhoo, you need to go facebook and find the group/page "London Longboards", most stuff is on there
Also get involved in the UK scene at
Longboard-Sessions.co.uk - UK Longboarding
And lets have a tackle at your questions:
What are the spots in London to skate? Cruising, freestyle, downhill, sliding, garages etc.
Anywhere! Most big meet ups are in the various parks because there's no traffic.
Do people use it for daily transportation?
Definitely.
What is the biggest competition?
UK or just London? The scene is evolving so rapidly it's hard to say! 2009 we had the 6-3-1 series slide comp, 2010 had the UK Outlaw Championships, 2011...well... you'll find out
Is there one shop or spot people meet up?
Usually the parks, discipline changes which one.
Is it considered a green, environmentally friendly, thing to do?
Sure why not! depends who you talk to eh!
Is there one person who is sort of leader/figurehead in the scene?
There's a few gys who are really prominent and spread the stoke, run events etc.
Hit me up if you need more info!
