Flippin' heck! 97mm Flywheels are £87.50 a set at Octant Sport. Here, they're £11.94 a wheel, so that'd be £47.76 for a set. Almost half price! Bookmarked for sure!

Not sure it's worth mailing abec 11 or looking on there site, you could just buy some grippins which are classic thane if that's what your looking for.
Coppied straight from there site: (I doubt it would be cheaper than buying them from retailers in your own country as delivery affectivley doubles the price of most wheels and on top of that you might have to pay other fees 'at the door step' such as import duites and the like.)
Delivery to Other Locations
- Channel Islands and Isle of Man: £7.50
- Europe £10
- USA £20
- Other Locations £25

Yep, so you buy your cheap wheels and you don't buy them from a shop that supports UK longboarding.
That shop, with the loss of business, can't keep afloat any more and they shut down.
You decide to organise an event, but you need money or prizes so you go check your scene supporting shop, but they aren't there anymore.
You try these guys instead, but they won't help you out.
You think oh well, at least I can go to the Hog hill race, but it doesn't exist anymore because the shop shut down.
Or the summer sessions slide tour, nope that's gone too.
At least I can go to BOPEEP crash & burn! No, it turns out the money to fund the event came from shops trying to give back some love and they shut down because they didn't get any love back.
I am deeply unenthusiastic about those people trying to undercut legit shops.
Looking forward to racing Bopeep next year Will? hmmmm???

Chill out
If you're buying 3-4 sets of wheels I doubt that this apocalyptic ending of all uk skate events will occur...

Re: Cheap Abec 11 Wheels in the UK
I'll support local longboard builders and innovators, but when it comes to retailers of imported US products I'll go for the one that rips me off least and delivers fastest. Don't feel like paying a compulsory tip to encourage a longboard scene on the other side of the country.

Yess I get your point, i'm sorry.
As I said already, I would be more than happy to buy from skate shops that fund events and the like if the products were resonably more expensive than the prices I found on that site, like £5 or less but it's £20 + on some wheels!!! Tell me, why can't our skateshops do that?
This sport needs some more big companies to sponser.

Re: Cheap Abec 11 Wheels in the UK
HAHAHA That website is selling for trade prices.... They are gonna stay in business for a long time.. I bet they don't hold any stock.. They are just listing the distributors price list.
Buy all the wheels and put them out of business, but I bet those prices are just put there to lure people to the site and boost their traffic stats.

Re: Cheap Abec 11 Wheels in the UK

So, holdall.co.uk does not actually have those products in stock. They do what's called "drop shipping" direct from the distributor. This means they never actually see your wheels. I ordered some Loaded pucks from a site that works in this way one. Instead of the correct UHMWPE pucks, they sent the original **** pucks. It took 3 weeks to sort it out because a. the shop didn't know there was a differnce. b. They'd never seen the pucks. c. they had to get me to return direct to J&R sports, the distributor and it took ages to contact them.
The other reason they can offer such low prices is by having a larger stock selection. These guys don't just specialise in skate gear, they sell ALL sports equipment. They're ASDA while your local scene shop is the local grocers. No specialisation, no love. Money is a hard thing, many of us are poor and bang for the buck makes a big difference. But look at your local shops, the butchers, the greengrocers. Buying cheap and buying often is leading to a collapse in the quality of EVERYTHING as only the big companies can afford the small margins to supply it. Clothes, food, skateboards, beer, wine, everything. This matters in every aspect of what you purchase. We've seen delicious local breweries go under because people just want cheap, foul, Carling. Does ASDA age my meat to get full flavour? Do they look after their animals welfare as they wait to be slaughtered? NO. they are in it to turn a buck and get out and look what's happened to the people that care! They can't afford to keep going.
Buy local or you won't be able to soon.
The other problem with these shops is they don't offer the specialist gear. The rubber backed washers for dropthroughs, the boards by your small local builder, the cut down 2.75" kingpins to make yer trucks run sexy. If you call them up and say "What eliminators do you recommend for Tight Slalom on an RTS/X setup?", they won't know what you are talking about and you'll be lucky to get an answer and not a machine "Press 1 for our football department, press 2 if you have a complaint about a pie you purchased, etc etc".
Whoa sorry got a bit ranty.
