Question London skate friendly?

I'm going to be living in London for about four months and I was wondering if it would be worth it to buy a Pigme (24 inches) and bring it over in my suitcase?

I'd be using it for commuting to and from the underground. I have no clue exactly where I'm living, but it will be somewhat close to central London.

Some non-skaters who have been to London say it wouldn’t be a good place to skate, but I’d like a skater’s perspective.

If you have any other tips or cool things to do for an American living in London feel free to help me out.

I am heading over to London for a year myself. I am putting together a smaller deck for use over there. I will be in central London as well. Perhaps we should meet up for a ride.

I live a 30min train ride from LondonWater Loo, (Near central london )

like many cites it can be crowded with dodgy pavments but if you used a small slalom board it would be great to pump through the crowds,

there are also slalom sessions that happen in the parks there, but i dont know much local knowledge as I live just outside the west of the M25

I was in south England back in March. BEAUTIFUL area. Way too cold to skate at the time though.

I will be using a Slalom board with some soft wheels.

its not too cold to skate in march !!

been sliding in -3'c round here,

But it is a nice place, not amazing hilly but good enough

And soft wheels would be a must as the pavements are so unpredictable due to the incredible lack of money put in repairing roads and stuff

Went into central london over the weekend. and had a session with the lushlongboard guys in Greenwich park, Which has steep straight roads running through it and has the benfit of traffic only allowed through in rush hour, so otherwise car free spots.
