Between the 18th and the 22nd of June a team of Longboarders from Aberystwyth University, joined by fellow skaters from around Britain will be skating the 150miles between Aberystwyth and Bristol to raise money and awareness for chosen charities, Holding Out Hope and Unicef.
Holding Out Hope is a charity based in Thornbury, and sends out volunteers to help take care of orphans in Romania and Bulgaria. The charity is not on as global a scale as UNICEF, and is run by father of four Pete Bradey, and can always use the extra fundraising.
Lowe Syndrome is an incurable children's disease which affects the brain, eyes, kidneys, bones and muscles. The Lowe Syndrome Trust is small, and voluntary with an aim of raising awareness and funding to support medical research into the disease.
The trip is being supported and advised by Dave Cornthwaite & Boardfree, Chilled Turtle, Lee from Rayne Longboards, Scott and the team at Subsonic Longboards, The Team at Lush Longboards, Dan from Odd Skool Boards, Holey Trucks, Stormriders, Nat Halliday and the SkateNewZealand team.
Any riders who wish to join us for the trip would be more than welcome! email me for further details.
